Content is king, and the king is hungry. That’s what our content queen at Tourism BC once told me. Digital strategists usually focus on technology, but really, DMO’s are in the content business.
Question is where will all that content come from?
One the one hand, DMO’s can create all content themselves. You’ll have full control and your brand will be protected. It’s a time consuming exercise through, and you have to keep things current as well. And in a Web 2.0 world with social media where consumers are producing content en mass, you can just ask consumers to create it for you or go look for it on the internet and aggregate it into your website.
