People makeĀ decisionsĀ about what destination to visit for strange reasons. I observed a focusgroup in the UK once where one guy visited Egypt one time and when he found out the Nile river was the longest river in the world and since then his goal is to visit the top 10 longest rivers in the world.
The above is not that strange. Lists narrow things down for people. That’s why top 10 lists work. The guidebook says these are the top 10 things to do and people just go and do it.
Every destination has the primary reason for going there. It can be a product or an experience. Sometimes there’s no specific reason at all. I like Portland, OR for example. For no specific reason. It’s just a cool town, with cool people, with cool neighbourhoods. I feel good when I’m there. I’d love to go back soon.
