I totally agree. The only thing I want to add is "mapmania". It is fascinating how often maps are used during the travel planning process of a journey. MapQuest, Google Maps, Yahoo Maps, Nokia Maps and so on provide much more travel information than most top 10 travel sites of a country if they are counted together. So - the question for tourism organisations is - how to bring their brand, their useful content with benefits for (potential) guests to these map-applications.

The answer - it is much easier as most peoptle think, f.e. loading pictures up to google maps with panoramio. There are hotels in Austria which already mangaged to load up 10%off coupons to google maps. Nokia as one of the largest provider of mobile maps is the next giant who will be open for excellent content of touristic products.
